End Citizens United Makes A Push To Defeat Four Californian Politicians In 2018 Midterms

The 2018 midterm elections have taken on a greater level of importance in the coming months as the Democrats look to overcome a Republican majority in both Houses of Congress. End Citizens United, the Political Action Committee dedicated to overturning the divisive Citizens United decision of the Supreme Court in 2010 has announced it is hoping to play a big part in the Midterm Elections in California by placing four of the state’s Republicans on its list of top 20 politicians under threat during the 2018 elections.

Democrats have been looking to the 2018 elections as providing a major period of success for the party after a number of sitting Republican candidates have announced they are not standing for reelection; in other areas of the country controversial figures such as former Sheriff Joe Arpaio have announced their candidacy for election for the Republican party providing the Democrats with greater ambitions in many different states such as Arizona. Among the top twenty political targets for End Citizens United, as they enter the 2018 Midterm season, are the four Republicans, Mimi Walters, Dana Rohrabacher, Darrell Issa, and Duncan Hunter; Hunter is well-known for the problems he is facing with an ongoing investigation into the campaign financing irregularities surrounding his campaign, and End Citizens United’s lacrosse camp.

Formed in 2015, End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller has stated she is seeking a better way of completing the election season in 2018 as the PAC used the 2016 national elections as a testing ground for different messages about bringing an end to the changes developed in campaign financing following the Citizens United decision and traditional Democrat messages; what the PAC discovered was its campaign message about changing campaign financing rules created more positive results in traditionally Republican regions, and their Facebook.

During the announcement of the list of 20 Republicans targeted by End Citizens United, Tiffany Muller explained her belief many of the leading Republicans in California had shown themselves more concerned about the needs of big money donors over those of their constituents. Tiffany Muller also highlighted the issue of major telecommunications companies providing financial donations to the campaign of Representative Issa as the more than $11 million donated to End Citizens United by the end of October 2017 will make the group a major force in the forthcoming Midterm elections.
